The information given in this list is effective as of  February 15, 2024, and is subject to change without notice. 

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only those items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any item for which you did not specifically ask, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the general goods and services you selected.

Professional Services

A. Basic Service of Funeral Director and Staff

Our charges include consultation with the family or responsible party, staff and facilities to respond to initial requests for services; coordinating service plans with the cemetery, crematory and/or other parties involved in the final disposition of the deceased, This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select (this fee is already included in our charges for direct cremation, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains).

B. Embalming

$675.00

Except in certain special cases (see requirements of Michigan Law set out below), embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want to embalm, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement which does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial. The law requires embalming when death was caused by certain infectious diseases or, with very limited exceptions, when the body is not taken to its final destination (such as a cemetery or crematory) within 24 hours.

C. Other Preparation of the Body

Other

Forwarding of Remains to Another Funeral Home

This charge includes removal of remains, services of the staff, embalming, receptacle for the body, necessary authorizations and local transportation to the airport. It does not include the services of the staff or the use of the facilities for any visitation and/or rites or ceremonies prior to the forwarding of the body. The cost of other than local transportation in vehicles from the Funeral Home is $2.75 per mile one way.

Receiving of Remains From Another Funeral Home

This charge includes temporary care and custody of the remains, transportation of remains to cemetery or crematory and required services of the staff. It does not include services or the staff or the use of facilities for viewing or for funeral rites/services.

Direct Cremation

If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without outside covering). the containers we provide are alternative containers and other cremation containers, including containers made of wood, containers made of fiberboard and containers made of composite materials.

*Cremated human remains will be held at the Funeral Home upon request for a period not to exceed 60 days. Thereafter, they will be mailed to the legal next of kin or named person by USPS registered mail with return receipt service. Shipping and storage fees will apply.
