Augusta Mae Smith's Obituary
Augusta Mae Smith, age 95, was born in Lansing, Michigan on March 23, 1930, to the late Gus and Eva VanPatten and passed away at home on April 16, 2025. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Francis Smith; son Steven; triplet sons, Timmy, Tommy, and Jimmy at the time of their birth; a granddaughter, Elizabeth. Survivors include three children, Vicki (Roy) Anderson; Mike (Kathy) Smith, Ann (David) Zimmer; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
She retired from Howmet after 35 years of service and retired again after 10 years working at Meijer. She loved playing euchre, going to the casino and spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the American Legion Algot Johnson Post #69, located at 803 E. Colby Street, Whitehall, Michigan 49461. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Michigan.
