Avis Elizabeth Deater's Obituary
Avis Elizabeth Deater was born on October 20, 1926 to the late Elmer and Elizabeth Stevens and passed away on January 11, 2018 at the age of 91. Along with her parents Avis was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Robert F. Deater; daughter, Maureen Deater Jackson, and brother, Marshall Stevens. She is survived by two children, Brian Robert (Rita) Deater, and Sheryl Lynn (Larry) Netzler; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Peter) DeSimone, Brian (Rachel) Netzler, Andrew Netzler and Olivia Netzler; two great-grandchildren, Louis and Maureen DeSimone; a brother, Wilfred A. Stevens. According to her wishes cremation has taken place and private family memorial/interment will be held next to her husband Robert at Pine Hill Cemetery in Fruitport. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Muskegon Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, 4845 Airline Road, Muskegon, Michigan 49444 or to the Life Circles/PACE program, 560 Seminole Road, Muskegon, Michigan 49444.
