Barbara E. Carney's Obituary
Barbara E. (Babcock) Carney of Muskegon, MI passed away on August 10th, 2023, following anextensive illness. Barb was born on November 10, 1949, to Sidney and Fancis (Wisclo)Babcock.She married Robert (Bob) Carney on September 7th, 1968. Barb worked in several area nursinghomes during her working years. She was a devoted member of the Catholic faith and lifetimemember of the Women's VFW Auxiliary in Newaygo, MI.Barb "Grandma Toys" Carney was an avid reader and skilled seamstress. She spent her lifesurrounded by her loved ones and grandchildren, creating lasting memories that incorporatedher love of baking. From Bob and Barb's time at Alice's Pond, to their more recent years at VFWCampground on Diamond Lake, camping was a lifelong staple and their passion was passeddown to the legacy they left behind.Barb is survived by her children, Rob (Kelly) Carney and Amy (Pat) Gordon, Grandchildren,Great-Grandchildren, Siblings and many loved friends. Barb was preceded in death by herparents, brother Paul, and husband of 54 years, Bob "Grandpa Toys" Carney.According to her wishes a cremation has taken place. A Memorial and Celebration of Life will beheld with close family and friends at a later date.
