Mrs. Barbara Jean Robinson (Knudson) age 81 passed away at Riverside Nursing Home in Grand Haven on October 30, 2022. Barbara was born on January 28, 1941, in Alpena, Michigan to the late Ralph and Ruth Knudson. She graduated from Alpena High School and attended Western Michigan University where she received her BA/BS. She worked as a librarian for Mona Shores Public Schools for 30 years. Barbara enjoyed knitting, crocheting and Swedish Weave. She loved baking and making recipes from her Norwegian ancestry. Her two granddaughters especially liked her famous Red Cake. She made sure we all got our lesson making "Cliff" a Norwegian recipe (klubb) and "glit". Her pride and joy were her daughter and granddaughters and the many shopping trips they took together.
Along with her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 45 years, William Robinson. Survivors include, her daughter, Amy Jandt; granddaughters, Hannah (Quinn LaPoint) Jandt, Maddie Jandt; sisters-in-law, Robin Robinson, and Vicki Robinson; niece Rachael (Dave) Ernvall; nephew, Rodney (Angie) Robinson; great-nephew, Eric Ernvall and Brooks Robinson.
According to her wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Vikings Lodge, located at 3132 Lakeshore Drive, in Muskegon on Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society/Relay for Life of Muskegon County.
