Beverly Johnson's Obituary
Beverly Joan Johnson was born on July 23, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Leon K. and Pauline F. (Retkovske) Corning and passed away on March 2, 2024, at the age of 89. Along with her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, John Johnson; five of her six children, James "Jim" Johnson, June Paynter, Betty Johnson, Robert Johnson, and Nancy Johnson; grandson, Eric Johnson, and sister, Shirley Cleveland. Beverly is survived by her son Bill (Barb) Johnson; grandchildren, Charlotte Johnson, Robert Decker, Kellie Decker, Jodi Paynter, John Paynter; Jacob Messinger, Adam (Tessa) Messinger, Casey (Roger) Jourden, Taylor (Marissa) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Janey, Daxon, Noah, Grant, Addison, Ella, Hannah, and Kelsey.
Beverly worked to support her family her whole life. She enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, and crafts. She especially enjoyed fishing at her cottage on Campbell Lake near Hesperia.
A Funeral Service for Beverly will be held at Shoreline Memorial Services,137 E. Laketon Ave. in Muskegon, on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be next to her husband John in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
