Bill L. Thurlow's Obituary
Bill Lee Thurlow, formerly of Midland, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at his home in North Muskegon. He retired from Mel Trotter Ministries in Grand Rapids. Prior to that, he and his wife Sarah, lived in the Cincinnati, Ohio area (Loveland) for 27 1/2 years, were active members of First Baptist Church, Milford, Ohio, before relocating back to Michigan in 2004. Bill received his BS degree from Western Michigan University, taught in Christian schools, and later became Maintenance Director for a large company in Cincinnati, Ohio. Up until his death, he was on the Board of Directors for the S.S. Milwaukee Clipper Ship as well as an active volunteer doing restoration on the ship, docked in Muskegon, Michigan, a work he truly enjoyed, along with the camaraderie with other volunteers. He had a God given gift in so many areas of maintenance, and everything he did, he did to perfection. He was a thorough and organized no matter what jobs he undertook. Bill was a giver, and helped many folks by way of monetary giving, choosing to remain anonymous, utilized hi skills in many maintenance repairs, building installations, remodeling, electrical, etc. You name it, he could do it, displaying a "want to please" attitude. He was responsible, conscientious, creative and hard working. But best of all, Bill was a born again Christian, having accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord, and is now in Heaven with Him and his new body, no more pain or suffering. He prayed often for friends and family for their salvation by accepting the Lord as Savior, and have eternal life in Heaven as the Bible teaches.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Mitchelene (Denslow) Thurlow, sister Linda Thurlow, brother Stephen Thurlow, and grandparents; survived by his wife, Sarah (Davila) Thurlow, brother Charles (Brenda) Thurlow of Belville, NC, sister-in-law, Patricia (Albright) Thurlow of Saginaw, MI and several nieces and nephews. Bill will truly be missed!
