Brad honorably served our country in the United States Navy as an Aviation Ordnance man. After completing boot camp at Great Lakes, IL in 1969, he was assigned to Naval Air Station Cecil Field, FL until 1971. His can-do spirit and patriotism always resonated and inspired everyone he met. He was immensely proud of his family, his country, and his Navy.
Brad was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Some of his favorite adventures included backpacking trips to Isle Royale, North Manitou Island, the Great Smoky Mountains & Zion National Park. Boating and skiing kept him enjoying the beauty of Michigan year-round. It brought him great joy to teach his children and grandchildren how to safely enjoy these activities. Brad could always be counted on to supply extra rain gear (it rained on nearly every trip he took), to have a stockpile of shoelaces and a bag of twisty ties, because they always come in handy, and to make friends with nearly anyone and everyone that crossed his path.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at the Mona Lake Boat Club Randall Rd. in Norton Shores, Mich 49441 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with military honors at 2:00 p.m.
Brad was a volunteer at Wheatland Music Festival for 23 years and a long-time member of the Mona Lake Boat Club. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Brad to Wheatland Music Organization, PO Box 22, Remus MI 49340 or the Mona Lake Boat Club at 372 Randall Rd, Norton Shores MI 49441.
