Bradley K. Hyde's Obituary
After a long battle with his health, Bradley K. Hyde age 76 passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 29, 2024.He was born in Muskegon on September 6, 1947, to Geraldine (Block) and Russell Hyde and was raised by his mother and stepfather, David "Scotty" Kennedy.
After graduating from Muskegon High School, Brad joined the Navy and served on the USS Everglades. Upon returning home he was employed as a paper machine supervisor at SD Warren for 25 years. On May 3, 1974, he married his best friend and love of his life, Deborah L. Morrison and they shared many adventures together for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Geraldine and Scotty Kennedy, his father Russell, Hyde, nephew Craig A. Hyde, his close in-laws Josephine and Paul Morrison, Karen and Chuck Smith, Betty and James Neel, and his absolute best fur friend, Brittney Paige.
Brad is survived by his loving wife Deborah, sisters Sandra (Raymond Hausler), Sharron (Lynn Stel), Sandi Kennedy (George Harryman), brothers Terry (Carol) Hyde, David (Lynn) Kennedy, Jim (Natalie) Kennedy, brother-in-law Paul J. (Carol) Morrison, and many wonderful nieces, nephews and dear friends.
An avid outdoorsman, Brad especially liked to fish and was a dedicated and successful deer hunter, garnering him the nickname Bawana. He was an avid golfer and proud to have two holes-in-one on the boards at University Park and Benona Shores golf courses.
Brad had a generous heart and loved having parties and picnics at the cabin with family and friends. He was happiest when he was in the outdoors and loved traveling in the camper to go metal detecting, rock hunting on the beaches in the UP or mining for crystals and diamonds in Arkansas.
The family wishes to thank Brad's nurses and the entire staff at Harbor Hospice in Muskegon for the phenomenal care he received during this journey.
A graveside service will be held at Laketon Township Cemetery, on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Uetricht officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Harbor Hospice Foundation. https://harborhospicemi.org/
