Carol L. Britton's Obituary
Carol L. (Helm) Britton, age 81 was born in Melrose Park, Illinois on August 1, 1943, to the late Edgar and Evelyn (Bjornsen) Helm and passed away on April 1, 2025. Carol moved to Michigan from Maywood, Illinois in 1947. She attended Carr School and Muskegon Senior High School graduating in 1962. She worked at Alden's, Hardy's, Diana Shop, Sear's, D & C, Marquette School, Hills, and the Getty 4 Cinema. She had volunteered at General Hospital and at River of Life Clothing giveaways. She married Harry Britton on August 1, 1964, and he preceded her in death on September 14, 2007.
She is survived by her three children, Sherri (David Alves) Britton, of Muskegon, Tammy (Mike) Lowe, of Ludington, Gerald (Dawn) Britton, of North Muskegon, Michigan; grandchildren, Christopher (Jodi) Britton, of Baldwin, Jon (Sammie) Cox, of Muskegon, Anthony Velez, of Zeeland, Alicia (Michael) Sharpe, LeAnne (Leo) Prado Colina, both of Grand Rapids, Cody of Muskegon, Kaylee, and Rachael Britton, of Grand Rapids, Hollie (Floyd) Beardsley, Heather (Ryan) Kruznar, Hailey Langlois, all of Muskegon; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Marjorie Huizenga; Mary Rawson, of Muskegon, Penny Helm, of Ludington, Richard Helm of Florida, and George Helm of Irons, Michigan, Edgar Helm Jr., of Arkansas. Carol also served in the United States Navy Reserve.
Funeral Services for Carol will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Christian Life Center, 16765 Hemlock Drive, Spring Lake. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be next to her husband Harry at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Christian Life Center, envelopes will be available at the service.
