Carol B. "Nip" Leitner's Obituary
We are truly heartbroken to announce the death of our father, Carol "Nip" Leitner on December 31, 2023. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 88. Nip was born on January 5, 1935, to the late Harold and Gladys Leitner in St. John, Kansas. He attended Kansas State Teacher College on a football scholarship and later served 2 years in the United States Army.
In 1966 he married Connie Hodges, his beloved angel. He was a member of St. Mary of the Woods in Lakewood Club.Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Connie. Survivors include his six children, Kevin (Marilyn) Hodges, Brenda Hodges, Mary (Kevin) Allen, Penny (Larry) Whitley, Tony Leitner, and Jeff Leitner; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held later this year. In lieu of flowers/gifts please consider a memorial contribution to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in his name. Inurnment will be in Hart Cemetery next to his wife Connie.
