Charlie N. Gainey Jr. age 75 was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on June 10, 1942 to the late Charlie and Annie Gainey and passed away on April 22, 2018. Charlie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Romona S. Gainey; two children, Anna M. (William) Grimm and Charlie "Chip" (Cindy) Gainey; grandchildren, Samantha K. Grimm, Jennifer E. Grimm, Trinity R. Gainey, Isaac N. Gainey, Isabella J. Gainey, Reuben G. Gainey; great-granddaughter, Sofia K. Choplan; brother, James David Gainey. Charlie was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Consumers Energy. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. Charlie and Romona are members of Muskegon Bethel Baptist Church, 1066 E. Byron Road where a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. the Reverend Doug VanderMolen officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Battle Creek, Michigan. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Youth Program at Bethel Baptist Church.
