Chris R. Peter's Obituary
Chris R. Peter age 60, loving husband and father unexpectedly went home to be with Jesus on September 8, 2014.
On October 4th, 29 years ago, he celebrated his birthday by marrying the "Love of his Life"?, surviving wife, Luanne Peter; also survived by his precious daughters, Jamie L. Peter and Leeanna A. Peter both of Fruitport.
Chris was born on October 4, 1953 to the late Grayce J. (Dobb) Peter and Frederick R. Peter who preceded him in death January 31, 1985 and July 22, 2003 respectively.
Chris served his country in the US Army Military Police and retired from the US Postal Service in 2013 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Olivet Evangelical Free Church family.
Over the years Chris enjoyed bowling, golfing, jig saw puzzles, cribbage, Sudoku, bird watching and an awesome love for the many family dogs. He is also survived by five siblings, Carl (Jackie) Peter, of Illinois; Craig (Paula) Peter, Cynda (Doug) Davidson, Caryn Peter and Cheri Potter, of the Fruitport area; in-laws, Jim and Barb Haan; brother-in-law, Mike (Deborah) Sheedlo; many beloved nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces; special friend, Dan Manchesky, of Muskegon.
He was a loving Papaw to Joanna. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Olivet Evangelical Free Church, 6790 Harvey St. Muskegon, Michigan 49441 with Pastor Craig Cramblet officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Olivet's Benevolence Fund or to the family for funeral expenses.
