Claire Mietzner's Obituary
Claire Mietzner went to be with the Lord on December 3, 2020 at the age of 83. Claire was born in Putnam, CT in August of 1937 to Ernest and Rose Anna (Nadeau) Labonte. On June 27, 1959, Claire married Kenneth Mietzner. They had recently celebrated 61 years of marriage. Claire was a devoted wife to Kenneth and managed the family responsibilities while Kenneth navigated his commitments with the Navy. She worked at the Naval Exchange and the Quidnessett Bible Bookstore. She enjoyed playing tennis, golf and bowling with her friends and church leagues. Claires passion was her grandchildren and their families. She loved to have them over for family dinners and celebrations. She was a member of the Fifth Reformed Church in Muskegon, MI where she enjoyed the community and friendship of everyone in the congregation. Claire especially cherished the friendships of all the women who attended the Tuesday Bible study and the Wednesday get-togethers. Claire is remembered in love by her daughter, Rhonda McLoughlin (Mark). Siblings: Donald Labonte (Bonnie) and Rose Plihcik. Grandchildren: David Ogren, Jr. (Sherry), Emily Goldberg (Brad) and Thomas Harrington. Great-grandchildren: Brayden and Miles Goldberg, Megan Richardson and Tori Wright. Great-great children: Creedance and Forrest Gardner. Extended family include David Ogren Sr. (son-in law) and his wife Shelly Ogren, many brothers and sisters-in-law and nephews and nieces. Claire is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Rose Anna Labonte, husband, Kenneth Mietzner, and daughter, Gretchen Ogren.
A memorial service will be held on December 8, 2020, at Fifth Reformed Church, in Muskegon. The service and burial will be limited to immediate family. The service will be live streamed starting at 11:00am and can be found via the following link: Fifth Reformed Church of Muskegon - YouTube.
