Craig J. Lonnee's Obituary
After enduring an extended illness, Craig James Lonnee, 71, of Norton Shores, passed awaypeacefully Sunday morning, February 23 at Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon. He issafely home with Jesus.
Craig was born in Grand Rapids on July 19, 1953, the beloved first born of Rudy and BarbLonnee. He grew up in Ravenna and graduated from Ravenna High School in 1971. Whilestudying at Grand Valley, Craig held several positions in the field of mental health and socialservices. He went on to graduate from Grand Valley State University with a degree in computerscience. For many years, Craig worked in the IT Department of Meijer in addition to otherbusinesses in West Michigan.
As a young boy Craig loved riding his bike around Pickerel Lake at the family cottage andplaying baseball with the neighbor kids in Ravenna. He was a well-loved and fun classmate inhigh school, known for his kindness, a few pranks and sense of humor. He was an avid readerthroughout his life, and for many years was involved in community theater in both GrandRapids and Muskegon. With his quick wit and huge smile, Craig was always up for a spiritedconversation including a good political debate.
Craig was a kind and compassionate man, aware of and considerate to the needs of thosearound him. As he faced adversity in his life, he maintained a courageous and positive spirit.He leaves behind his gal pal, Deborah Margules; his two sons Matt and Nick; his former wife,Judee Lonnee; and his precious granddaughter, Madison Grace. He will also be dearly missedby his three siblings: Nancy Shope (Sam), Diane Oppenneer (Randy), and Mike Lonnee (Renee).
Arrangements are provided by Shoreline Memorial. At Craig's request, a private service isplanned."For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present northings to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be ableto separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38, 39
