Daniel L. Pohl's Obituary
Daniel L. "Dan" Pohl age 72 was born in Muskegon on March 10, 1949, to the late William Henry Julius and Stella Marion (Lawrence) Pohl. He passed away on December 3, 2021. Survivors include three siblings: Judith Ann Schmachtenberger, Michael William Pohl, Cathy Ellen (Gary Alan Ritsema) Neuman; daughter, Stefany Irene (Brandon Michael) Korstanje; two grandchildren: Xander Michael Lawrence Korstanje and November Crystal Irene Korstanje; several nieces, nephews, and special friends including, Pamela Irene Ericksen. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Jo Pohl, at age eight and a brother-in-law, Neil Haven Schmachtenberger.
Dan was an avid bowler with the Wednesday morning group at Northway Lanes. He had a strong disposition and perseverance throughout his life. He also enjoyed helping people and encouraging others whenever he saw an opportunity. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Interim Health Care, the staff at Roosevelt Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Community, and Harbor Hospice for the loving care given to Dan.
Funeral Services were held at Shoreline Memorial Services - Whitehall Chapel, 816 S. Mears Ave., Whitehall, Michigan on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jerry DePoy officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Daniel's name to the Noah Project, 5205 Airline Road, Muskegon, Michigan 49444 or Muscular Dystrophy Association. Interment will be next to his parents and sister in Restlawn Cemetery, Muskegon.
On Sunday, July 24, 2022, there will be a Celebration of Life Gathering for Dan from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Pere Marquette Park located next to Lake Michigan Channel in Muskegon,
