Daniel Lee Wimmer's Obituary
Daniel Lee Wimmer, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away at age 76 in his hometown of Muskegon, Michigan on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
Born November 24, 1947, in Muskegon, Dan lived a full life near the lakeshore with his wife, Jean (Kinnucan), who he married in 1968. Together they raised their two children, tended gardens, cared for local wildlife, and showered their growing family in love. By far one of Dan's favorite things was spending time with his family. He enjoyed watching old westerns, going for walks, doing jigsaw puzzles, and playing card games. He liked old cars and pocketknives and was always joking and making people laugh with his contagious giggle. A devout Christian, he prayed before every meal in gratitude for the food and family to share it with. May he rest easy in Heaven.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Carrie Wimmer, his wife Jean Wimmer, and his siblings Thermond (Llo) Barry, Andy (Melody) Barry, Carl (Marge) Barry, Chuck (Carolyn) Wimmer, and Laura (Joe) Staple.
He is survived by his daughter Amy Wimmer, his son Scott Wimmer (and daughter-in-law Darla Wimmer), his three grandchildren, Cody Wimmer (and granddaughter-in-law Lindsey), Samantha Breen (and grandson-in-law Michael), and Tyler Wimmer, and his great-grandsons, Theodore and Vincente. He is also survived by many other family members and friends who will miss him greatly.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on December 6, 2024, at Shoreline Memorial Services, 137 E. Laketon Ave. Muskegon. Interment and a luncheon to follow.
