Dave was a good friend to our family for the past 31 years. He was the one that would answer the church phone when we called. He was the first person we would see when we walked through that office door. I've logged hours of conversation with my friend and Christian brother over the years. There was a lot of good hearted harassment that went on with Dave. He was fun and funny. He was serious about the Lord an his love for our pastors and church family. He was generous and kind in his gruff Shuppy way. My husband, Mark prayed with him at Prayer Meeting for all the years we' ve know him. My kids used to call him Uncle Dave. He had funny names for a lot of the kids. He always asked after the well being of our family. He prayed for us. We will miss our dear friend and brother. Our loss is certainly his gain. The Apostle Paul said it best. Death where is thy sting... thanks be to God which giveth victory through Jesus Christ. Dave's suffering is over. See you later, my friend.
