Dawn Elaine Rull's Obituary
Dawn Elaine Rull, age 85, retired, Keypunch Operator at Muskegon Piston Ring, passed away at Trinity Health Hospital in Muskegon, Michigan on Monday, July 21, 2025, following a worsening of symptoms from a recently discovered heart valve defect and related complications. Dawn was born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan.
She was one of four children born to the late Eddie and Jane Andrew (Smith) and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, Donald Rull Sr., and her elder brother William (Eddie). Dawn will forever be remembered by her beloved sons Don Rull Jr. and Robert Woodward, treasured granddaughter Halle Woodward, her younger brother Richard (Dickie), and devoted older twin sister Jane, many nieces and nephews, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her. Dawn loved her K-9 daughter Jacqui (Maltese), garage sales and thrifting, BINGO, casino slots, shopping trips with silly adventure games often involving carts or bananas, crafting, crocheting and quilting, playing cards, listening to gospel music (especially The Statler Brothers and Owen Mac), loving on friends and family, and creating general mischief. She hated when other people used the "F" word, but it may have been the first word to reach her lips when things went south (rumor has it, that was the first thing she uttered during her numerous falls).
Dawn touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity and maintained her feisty spirit and trademark enthusiasm for all things family all the way to the end. Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Wolf Lake Methodist Church, 370 Vista Terrace, Muskegon, Michigan 49442. The family wishes to express that they desire no one feel pressured to provide any gifts, other than your presence, if able, and a dish to share only if you feel so called. If you would like to provide dish, someone will be at the church as early as 9am on this date should you wish to drop off early instead of bringing it with you. For those who prefer to send an expression of your condolence such as flowers or a financial gift, flowers may be sent to Wolf Lake Methodist Church the morning of the memorial (9-11am) or a monetary gift towards final expenses may be given to Dawn Millstead, Ruth Kuhlman or Robin Budwick."
