Delores Stella Thompson's Obituary
Delores Stella Zimmer (Maki) Thompson, of Whitehall, Michigan age 88 passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 21, 2024. She was born to the late Lawrence and Stella (Glac) Zimmer in Muskegon, Michigan where she resided most of her life. She married the love of her life, Jack E. Thompson, in September of 1970 and they moved to Whitehall, Michigan. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who devoted her life to loving and caring for her family. She will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by her children daughter, Susan Maki-George, son, Larry (Wanda) Maki and daughter, Kelly (Dan Peterson) Chartrand. Her grandchildren Ryan (Kimberly) Ganzevoort, Matthew Maki, Melissa (Jossie) Acosta, Samantha (Nicholas Agosti) Chartrand and Michael Chartrand, Jr. Also, her four great-granddaughters who brought her so much joy, Kamarae, Joslyn, Liana and Isla Acosta. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Jack, her brothers, Daniel & Ralph "Butch" Zimmer and one that brought her great sadness was the loss of her grandson, Troy R Ganzevoort.
Delores retired from the Muskegon Piston Ring after many years of employment. A place that brought her much joy and many friendships. Per her request there will be no visitation or service. Her family ask that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in her lifetime and not the sadness of her passing.
