Donald R. Grant's Obituary
Donald R. Grant, age 82, of Whitehall passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. He was born November 23, 1939, in Benzonia, Michigan to Ralph and Ina (Crawford) Grant. Donald graduated from Holton High School in 1958 and on July 9, 1960, married Patricia Johnston. He worked as a tool and die maker at Howmet and Viking Tool in Whitehall before owning and operating Mold Finishers and Don's Guns and Sporting Goods in Montague, Michigan. In 1995, he retired from Johnson Technology in Muskegon, Michigan. Donald loved hunting, fishing and spending time at his cabin up north. He also enjoyed family & friends gatherings and watching his children's and grandchildren's sporting events.
He is lovingly remembered by his three children: Kathleen (Rob) Williams, Kenneth (Kelly) Grant, and Mark (Dawn) Grant; eight grandchildren: Amanda (Jared) Wiggins, Dustin Williams, Kandas (Zack) Wildey, Kainan Grant, Alex Ellison, Jodi (Miles) Plont, Samantha Bluhm, and Josh (Kayla) Grant; eight great-grandchildren: Madison and Clayton Wiggins, Mala, Oliver, and Lucy Plont, Logan and Roses Bluhm, Aliza Dawn Grant, who is due in August; and sisters: Betty (Rob) Rippner and Emelia Tottingham. Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Patricia; sister: Nellie Lucht; grandson: Kyle Grant; and nephew: Mikey Lucht.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the White Lake Eagles, 1204 S. Lake Street in Whitehall, Michigan 49461 on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be with his wife in Oakhurst Cemetery, Whitehall, Michigan.
