Donald P. Martin's Obituary
Donald Paul Martin, age 85, died unexpectedly in his home on July 5, 2024. He was born April 18, 1939, to Francis and Cecilia Martin. After graduating from High School, Donald served in the United States Navy for 5 years as a musician. He was employed as a carpenter for a number of years. He continued to share his love of music playing in several community bands and the church choir. Donald leaves behind his ex-wife Marianne Martin, four children: Phillip & (Pamela) Martin, James & (Shawn) Martin, Michelle and (Hugh) Zeng, Richard & (Michelle) Martin. Seven grandchildren: Amber, Amanda, Brendan, Lauren, Andrea, Lynsey, Trevor, and two great grandchildren: Tristin, Katherine and many nieces and nephews. Three siblings Joe & (Kathy) Martin, Mary & (John) Allen, Suzanne & (Charles) Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Cecilia Martin, siblings Joan Harker, Ruth Stevens, Therese Smith, Robert Martin, Thomas Martin and Daniel Martin. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 239 W Clay Ave. Muskegon, MI 49440. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
