Donald Edward Riley, Sr.'s Obituary
Donald Edward Riley Sr. passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Donald was born in Muskegon on May 2, 1931 to Frederick and Bell (Derby) Riley. He married Phyllis Micko on January 3, 1953. She preceded him in death on December 7, 1993. Donald proudly served his country during the Korean War in the Air Force. After his service he came home and worked as a carpenter building homes and cabinet building. He enjoyed farming and ceramics. He built several homes throughout his life for his wife and 10 children.
Donald is survived by his sister, Georgia Lucille Babcock and brother Robert Riley. Donald is also survived by his children, David Riley, Susan (Brent) Arnson, Donald Riley, Joseph (Donna) Riley, Daniel Riley, Thomas (Kim) Riley, John Riley, Patricia Shelder, Dr. Mary Riley. He also has 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Phyllis, son Timothy, granddaughter Sara Shelder, great grandson Bailey Riley and daughter in-law Annette Riley; brothers Vernon Riley, Jack Riley, Roland Riley, Francis Riley Russell Riley; sisters Luella (Sis) Hibbs, Rosalie Davis. There are no services planned now but Donald has been cremated and the family plans a graveside service in the spring.
