Donald was born to Ethel Studaven in Chicago, IL. His mother died of tuberculosis before he was five. He had one brother, Rubin, who also died of tuberculosis in his teens. Don was raised by his aunt and uncle, Hannah and Les D Read Obituary

He was an exceptional man to have drawn you away from the big city to share his love of nature's beauty in rural America.
