Donald E. Zahrt's Obituary
Donald Edward Zahrt passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2018 at the age of 92. Don was a proud WW II U.S. Navy Veteran and Muskegon native. He had retired from North Muskegon Public Schools.
Don is survived by his four children, Dale, Gerald, Susan and Roger; siblings Jim (Sandy) Zahrt, Jane Peterson and Jean (Jack) Moore who paid their respects prior to his passing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margery and six siblings, Robert, Albert, Daniel, Harold, Bernice and Ida.
Services will not be held per Don's request. A scattering of his ashes will be done in Petoskey at a future date.
The family of Donald Zahrt wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Chad Uptigrove, the outstanding Hackley Hospital staff, and to Harbor Hospice. A tearful thank you to Don's caregiver, Janet Eilers.
