Donna J. Martin's Obituary
Donna Jean Martin, age 74, went to her Lord and Savior, and many family and friends on May 18, 2023. She was born March 12, 1949, to Les and Dorothy Martin in Muskegon, MI. She had 6 siblings and grew up in a great neighborhood on Old Channel Trail in Montague. After high school and Baker College, she married Tom Engemann and had two children, Laura and Matthew. Raising them was the joy of her life. She worked various jobs but especially loved being a Head Start teacher! She loved the sound of the waves at Lake Michigan and growing flowers on her little patio. She and her 3 sisters had many fun adventures together. She loved the family times with her kids and grandkids. We will all miss her so much.
Proceeding her in death were her parents; sisters (infant) Judith Mae Martin, Barbara (Bill) Alexander and Sue Martin-Crowell; brother, Jim (Maggie) Martin; nieces Pam Knapp and Lori Martin. Grieving her absence are her children, Laura (Chad) Baker and Matt (Lori) Engemann; grandchildren, Zack, Noah, Kaleb, Erin Raider, and Haley Engemann (significant other, Dylan Short) and Tom Engemann (significan other, Cait Johnson); three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Carson and Maeve; her sister, June (Doug) Freeman; brother, Tom (Paula) Martin; brother-in-law, Chuck Crowell, and Aunt Jean (Richard) Hunt; many nieces and nephews and best friend, Martha Wright-DeYoung.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church, 5149 Dowling St., Montague, MI. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to service time. Memorial contributions can be made to Love Inc.
