Doris I. Meyers' Obituary
Doris Meyers, 86, passed away January 18, 2021, peacefully at home under Hospice of Michigan care with her children by her side. Formerly Doris Rance, she married Richard Meyers in 1953 and raised five children. She was married for 53 years before Richard preceded her in death in 2005. Doris is the last of nine siblings who always came together for times of fun and during hard times. Doris loved to bowl until she couldn't anymore, play cards, crochet, and was known amongst her family and friends as the "joke teller." Doris is a golden member of the Frateral Order of Eagles where she spent over 40 years of her life and was a member of the women's Auxillary. She loved to travel the roads with her best friend Dorthy and enjoyed spending time at home with her family. While she will be missed, the family is at peace knowing she is now with the love of her life "dad". Doris is survived by her five adult children: Joe (Cindy) Meyers, Jim (Bonnie) Meyers, Chuck Meyers, Terri (John) Barnes, Pamela (Mac) McCullough, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grand-children.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Michigan specifically, Ashley her nurse, for the wonderful care their mom received. If anyone would like to donate, please send your donations to Hospice of Michigan. No services will be held and Doris's wishes to be cremated will be honored. The family has chosen to celebrate Doris' life later this year when it will be safe to gather.
