Douglas W. Jarvis' Obituary
Douglas Warren Jarvis born June 11, 1941, passed away on May 3rd, 2022, at his home with his family at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Evelyn (Armstrong) Jarvis, his sister Diane (Jon) DenHerder, and son, Michael Jarvis. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol (Walker) Jarvis, his children Pam (Don) DeWispelaere, Kim (Ed) Kropf, Greg Rice, Marty (Karla) Jarvis, Doug (Julie) Rice, Monte Jarvis, Wendy Stephens, his 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, brothers Glen (Karen) Jarvis and Wayne (Jackie) Jarvis.
Doug served in the Air Force from 1959 to 1966 and was stationed in Germany, where he did photo interpretation. He also spent time in Laos. Doug retired in 2000 from Howmet where he worked with computers. He was instrumental in obtaining and installing Howmet's first computers. His love of computers carried over into his home life. He enjoyed camping with Carol and many family and friends. Doug and Carol spent many winters in Texas. Doug was an avid reader and he loved playing cards.
He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Shoreline Memorial Services, 816 S. Mears Ave. Whitehall, Michigan 49461 on Saturday May 21st, 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with a time of memory sharing starting at 12:00 noon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Society.
