Douglas L. Reynolds' Obituary
Douglas Lee Reynolds, age 80, formerly of the Turk Lake/Gowen area, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, May 25, 2016 at his home on Lake Michigan in North Muskegon. The son of Clyde and Mable (Seat) Reynolds, he was born March 27, 1936 in Greenville. He was a 1955 graduate of Greenville High School, and a lifelong member of the Timberman"s Association. After graduating high school, he started his own wood manufacturing company, D.L. Reynolds Mfg. He was a well known businessman who supplied surrounding orchards with apple crates, along with wooden pallets to the local refrigerator plant. If you saw Doug out and about, he always had a smile and a story to tell. After retiring, he enjoyed spending time on the water with family and friends. Whether it be at Hardy Dam or Lake Michigan, you never knew where the adventure would take you, but it was always filled with laughter, love, and a memory that would be shared for years to come. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Rod (Pauline) Reynolds; sisters, Donna (Alvin) Rial, Arlene (Archie) Curtis, Gertrude (Robert) Luce, and Jean (John) Britzman; and two granddaughters, Erin Reynolds and Giana Hawley. Doug is survived by his wife, Gay; children, Michelle (G.J.) Van Spronsen, Jeffrey (Carmen) Reynolds, Leslie Reynolds, Joe Reynolds, Richard (Tammy) Ellsworth, and Robert Ellsworth; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A time of visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 pm Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, followed by refreshments and fellowship at the Turk Lake Banquet Room. Memorial contributions may be given to Harbor Hospice.
