I was so angry when I wrote that on his obituary 3 years ago. He was my brother.
I guess I was just upset that I couldn't stop him from dying...
I never did opiates but I was a junkie with booze...
And once somebody is gone all debts are paid man.
I'm still upset to this day that he terminated our friendship like that.
Ed taught me how to drive a 13 Speed... I was probably in the rig with him for a half million miles. I drove half of them. The company covered for us...
But we had a lot of good times on them southern Texas runs....
I hope you found God brother and I hope you're in heaven... And I quit drinking. No pot either....

Eddie & I once worked at the same trucking company back in 2006, "Big G Trucking" out of Hendersonville, Tennessee, if memory serves. I met him at driver orientation. The little motel where the company had us lodged had a Chinese buffet nearby where we had supper that first night. Eddie was quirky and funny, and we remained friends even after we both had later moved on to work at other companies. In the late Summer of 2008, he was bringing a load to my hometown outside Memphis, TN. I seriously needed a change of scenery at that time, and he picked up me & my faithful road dog I named, "Trucker", carrying us back to his hometown of Muskegon, so that I could apply with the company he was driving for. Eddie treated most people like family, and while in Muskegon, he introduced me to his step-mom, Judy Burns, and his dad Ed, Sr.. Little did I know at the time, that was the beginning of some of the best friendships I've ever known in life. I ended up staying in Muskegon for almost 2 years, during which time Judy became the mother I never had, and his father, Ed, Sr., became like a second dad to me. I had never really known what being part of a loving family was truly like until I met Eddie's family. It's nice to see all of Eddie's family and friends here to remember him so fondly. Eddie was the kind of guy that would do just about anything for a friend. Obviously, I've gotten the news of Eddie's passing late. I'm sad his time came so soon. He was a good driver, and overall a good guy who loved life, and always seen to have a smile on his face, especially when sharing stories about his kids. If fact, I can't picture Eddie in memory without a big smile on his face. Had it not been for Eddie's outgoing personality, his friendliness, and his generosity, I'd have missed out on many wonderful memories in life. My sincerest condolences go out to his family, his wife, his children, grandchildren, and friends. Eddie will certainly live on through his children, grandchildren, and through the memories of his family, and friends like me.
Him and his wife robbed me for everything I had, and then tried to have me thrown back in prison. I believe she's still a junkie to this day.. he no longer is. I was there ...that's what they did and they made all their kids hate me ...they robbed me just like his brother.

A: ED.; WAS OUR NEIGHBOR. WHEN WE BOTH LIVED ON BRIGADOON LN. THERE HE LIVED WITH JOEY AND THE KIDS. HE WOULD DO ANY THING FOR YOU. AND HE WAS A GOOD DAD TO THE KIDS, YOU WILL BE MISSED. BUT NOT FOR GOTTEN.

My dad used to be my best friend growing up, I just want to relive those days. Forever.
He was such a good guy always there to lend a hand an encouraging word or laughter.

I am so sorry for your loss, you are all in my thoughts and always will be. Ed was there before during and after my late husbands cancer journey. He was one of those people, one of those friends who truly became family. And he made us always feel like we were part of his. We love and miss you Ed so very very much.
