Elaine E. Brevick's Obituary
Elaine Evelyn Brevick, age 90, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020. She was born in Detroit on September 23, 1930 to Lambert and Alma Vierk. Elaine is survived by her three children, Jan (Bill) Naymick, Jerald (Michelle) Brevick and John (Linda) Brevick; 7 grandchildren, Laurie (Patrick), Julie (David), Kristi (Kris), Drew, Justin (Melissa), Kyle (Sarah) and Lisa; 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 2010. Elaine was a 1950 graduate of Capital University and she was a full-time servant for Christ at First Lutheran Church. She volunteered as a Bible study leader, Sunday School teacher and was a member of many committees. She had worked for the Muskegon Rescue Mission Quilt Group. She and Edward square-danced every Saturday with the Teledyne Continental Squares Club and Elaine was a strong supporter of the Westshore Symphony, the West Michigan Strings and Youth for Understanding. She sponsored Vietnamese families, tutored in the Public Schools and also enjoyed the lakes and beaches in Muskegon. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends as a woman of strong faith, daily prayer time, kind-hearted, generous, and giving. God's love showed brightly through her.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 2:00 PM at First Lutheran Church, 1206 Whitehall Road in Muskegon with Pastor Bill Uetricht officiating. Services will also be online via Facebook live and You Tube through First Lutheran Church. COVID protocols will be observed at the church. Burial will be at Laketon Township cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to First Lutheran Church, Harbor Hospice or Lutheran Disaster Relief.
