Elessie Mitchell's Obituary
Elessie "Les" Mitchell, age 75, was born in Midway, Texas on February 7, 1947, and passed away at home under the loving care of his family and hospice. Elessie is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Sherry Mitchell; children, Jeri Lynn Stoneham, Charmin Rena Jones, Nathaniel Alan Jones, Elessie Gabriel Walker, Myron Curtis Walker, Tre Walker; "adopted daughter" Sabrina Michelle Groeneveld; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; James Jones, and Jessie Mae Mitchell; a son Jalvin Walker; grandparents, Henrietta and Howard Young; sister, Peggy Jones, and a daughter-in-law, Ashley Upson-Walker.
Elessie was retired from Magna-Donnelly. He loved to work on cars, shoot pool, was a huge sports fan along with being an avid basketball player. Elessie has a wonderful sense of humor, he loved listening to the blues, especially Sam Cooke and Luther Vandross. According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life gathering will be held. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family to help with expenses.
