Francis Lee "Fran" Petrie's Obituary
Francis Lee Petrie, "Fran" was born in Muskegon, on December 9, 1931 to the late Flint and Margaret (Keller) Petrie and passed away on February 11, 2019 at the age of 87.
Francis is survived by his wife of 64 years, Judith "Judy" R. Petrie; children, Shelly (Thomas) Burr, Tammy Menke, David (Julia) Petrie; grandchildren, Curtis (Shanda), Amanda (Kirk), Miranda, Nathalie, Niklas; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry Petrie; sisters, Sue Hunt and Marge Beekman; brother-in-law, Erwin Kniat.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Babe Kniat and Dotty Driver.
Fran was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart.
He was retired from Muskegon Piston Ring and a member of the DAV.
Fran was a member of Twin Lake United Methodist Church, 5940 Main Street in Twin Lake, where a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Dye officiating.
Visitation will be held also at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Harbor Hospice Foundation or Twin Lake United Methodist Church.
Interment will be in Twin Lake Cemetery at a later date.
