Gary A. Brooks' Obituary
Gary, age 66 was born in Muskegon to Kenneth and Virginia Brooks. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Amy Cioe Brooks; Daughters, April (Nate) Cosier and Lindsay Brooks; Grandchildren, Ashton, Liam, Lexa, and Briar; Sisters, Jeanne Hippler and Judy (Robert) Treptow; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.He is preceded in death by his mother, Virgina (May) Brooks; Father, Kenneth Brooks; Stepfather, Giles (Al) Hamm; Brother-in-Law, Fred Hippler; Uncles Jim Brooks, Wayne Brooks, and Ron Brooks; Mother-In-Law, Doris Cioe; and Father-in-law, Charles Cioe.Gary attended Fruitport High School and pursued a career as a machinist. He worked at Westran, Federal Mogul, GP Manufacturing, Orion Manufacturing, and D&J Manufacturing before leaving his career due to disability.Gary suffered many health issues in the past 6 years that he survived although the odds were against him. He fought long and hard until his body was no longer strong enough.A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at his home at 2pm. We welcome anyone to share funny stories and memories personally or by writing these down to be read aloud at the celebration.
