Gary E. Matthews' Obituary
Gary Eugene Matthews, age 67, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017. He was born in Cadillac, MI on October 7, 1950 to Leon and Joyce Matthews. Gary is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jean; six children, Jonnel (Bill) Sheffer, Alisa Matthews - Wigger, Ashlie (Dale) Bazzett, Tina (Jay Edwards) Lafever, Tami (Todd) Burgess and Kelley Erdman; fourteen grandchildren, Jacob Aday, Nathan Aday, Trevor DeWeerd, Darian Burgess, Brody Burgess, Denver Lafever, Parker Edwards, Hannah Edwards, Eli Wigger, Cole Wigger, Sarah Sheffer, Willow Bazzett, Iris Bazzett and Claudia Bazzett; sister, Linda (Art) Biermacher.; two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lindsey Sheffer and by his sister, Joann Norton. Gary was a U.S. Army veteran and had worked as a truck driver for many years.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at VFW Post 7729, 6285 E. Apple Ave., in Muskegon.
