Genevieve R. "Gen" Scott's Obituary
Mrs. Genevieve Ruth "Gen"? Scott, age 87, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 12, 2015. She was born in Muskegon on June 23, 1928 to Jay and Dorothy (Seaberg) Medema. Gen is survived by her daughter, Marie (Robert) Brown of Grand Ledge, MI; two sons, James (Cheryl) Scott of Norton Shores and Brian (Kim) Scott of North Muskegon; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson W. Scott in 2008 and by one brother and one sister. Gen was a kind and loving person who enjoyed her family and friends. She had worked as a bookkeeper for the family businesses of Scott's Celery Farm and Scott's Greenhouses. She also had worked at J.C. Penney and was a longtime member of Olivet Reformed Church where she was active with the Ladies Guild. She also was a member of DeColores en Christo, the Happy Wanderers Trailer Club and the Grand Haven Whirlers. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church, 1568 W. Giles Rd. in Muskegon. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
