George Edward Bouman's Obituary
George Edward "Ed"? Bouman, 81, passed away November 14, 2016 in Muskegon, Michigan following an extended illness.He was born in 1935 in Batavia, Dutch West Indies (Indonesia). As a child he moved with his family to Scheveningen, The Netherlands. After completing his education, he served in the Royal Dutch Air Force. In 1960, Ed immigrated to the United States, eventually settling in Muskegon.Throughout his career, he worked as an electrician. He was employed by several local electrical contractors, including Hall Electric and Newkirk Electric.He married Mildred Kludy of Shelby in 1963. They spent 36 joyful years together, and raised two children. Mildred preceded him in death in 2000.Ed is survived by his daughter Bettina (Matt) Erickson of Portage, and son Paul (Jennifer) Bouman of Whitehall. He was very proud of his grandchildren Ian and McKenna Erickson; and Ryan and Patrick Bouman.A memorial is planned at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church 1568 W. Giles Rd. North Muskegon for Tuesday, November 22nd. There will be a visitation at 10 am, followed by a service at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Boy Scout Troop 1048 Building Fund, care of Lebanon Lutheran Church, 1101 S. Mears, Whitehall, MI 49461.
