Gilbert S. Martinez's Obituary
Gilbert SanJuan Martinez, age 44 was born on December 2, 1975 and passed away on August 30, 2020. Gilbert worked in construction. Always a hard worker and willing to help anyone in need. Passionate about family, Gilbert was social and made friends with just about anyone he met and had a passion for animals. His life force was strong, and his heart was kind and gentle. He was a comedian and singer with signature dance moves, the life of the party who was happiest making others happy, especially when cooking for the people he loved. Truly believing he was Chef Ramsey in the kitchen. Gilbert loved the outdoors and the beauty of nature. He was an avid sports fan and he wrestled in high school. Many knew him from his early "Toughman Contest" days. Gilbert is survived by his children, Jessica Smith and Rico Martinez; mother, Dianne Marie (Errgang) Olson, father, Michael John Olson; siblings, Tonya Martinez, Michael Olson, Christina Olson; his soulmate, Lori and her three children, Josie, Mitchell, and Jena; grandson, Isaac; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews along with a large extended family; his most recent fan and a special rescued pitbull named Neil.
A Prayer Service with Fr. Michael Olson officiating, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the home of his sister, Tonya, followed by a Celebration of Life Gathering.
