Guy Edward Quinn's Obituary
Guy Edward Quinn
March 31, 1945 ~ March 21, 2022
Our kind, patient, loving, and dedicated patriarch, Guy Edward Quinn, passed away at home surrounded by lots of love on March 21st, 2022. Born in Muskegon, MI, and living most of his life in Whitehall, MI, we gained an angel ten days shy of his 77th birthday. He remarkably fought a battle of kidney disease and bone cancer, determined to win until he found his new role watching over us.
He was preceded in death by Edward Francis Quinn (father), Corrine Bodel Buntin (mother), and older brothers Brian (infant) & Randall.
He left behind his devoted wife and best friend, Kathleen (Barrett) Quinn; a son Brian (Shannon) Quinn; a daughter Colleen (William) Quinn-Roh; his pride and joy, Quinn Sol Roh (grandson) and Ava Elizabeth Roh (granddaughter); two younger brothers Dennis (Patricia) Quinn; Patrick Quinn, and many adored nieces and nephews.
Guy proudly served in the United States Coast Guard from 1965 to 1971, stationed in Racine, WI, on the Cutter Raritan. Shortly after, he moved his family back to Whitehall and happily worked for the Wesley Family Marina and Boat Shop. Making, fixing, and restoring large wooden water vessels. At the same time, he followed his passion for music and sound by leading two local bands, Pegasus and Trax. There and everywhere he went, he made lifelong loyal, brotherhood bonds.
He recently retired after 45 years of focused and unwavering devotion, to the long-haul transport of goods and services. He traveled all across our Nation and the State of Michigan. He never tired of providing for the needs of his family, community, and country.
A celebration of life will be held later this summer close to his home.
Memorial contributions may be made, in kind to any charity of choice.
If you hear "A Simple Man" by Lynard Skynard, think of Guy Quinn. He was proud to be a simple man.
He is loved and missed greatly, The Quinn Family
