Hazel A. Ahrens' Obituary
Hazel "Betty" Alberta Ahrens, age 87, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018. She was born on March 5, 1931 in Traverse City, MI to Hubert and Florence Tithof. Betty is survived by her children, Pat (Bill) Russell of Whitehall, Annette (Terry) Tetzlaff of N. Muskegon and Richard (Jody) Ahrens of Whitehall; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 2 sisters, a grandson and her longtime love, Russell Holtz. Betty retired from Muskegon General Hospital at age 79. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, White Lake American Legion, Muskegon Eagles Arie 668 and the Don Rea VFW Post 8846 Auxiliary. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Muskegon Eagles, 621 W. Western Ave. in Muskegon. A private burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Traverse City. Memorial contributions can be made to White Lake Assisted Living Center.
