A celebration of this wonderful woman's life will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Shoreline Memorial Services, 816 S, Mears Ave. in Whitehall at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 11:00 a.m. until the service at 12 noon. A continuation of fellowship and luncheon will follow at the Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Findlay. She is survived by her sister Paige Cavalier, sister-in-law Sandy Taylor, many nieces and nephews. Her children, Cathy (Gary) Jasick, Debbra (Ken) Jaworski, Robert (Karen) Findlay; her grandchildren, Anthony (Melissa) Jasick, Adam (Reagan) Jasick, Kimberly (Kyle) Johnson, Kelly (Paul) Krispin, Justin and Brody Findlay; her great-grandchildren Rohen and Reece Jasick, Mackenna and Avery Johnson and Connor, Camden, Cole and Cade Krispin.
Jean enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Her beautiful work is treasured by family and friends. She was definitely a sports lover, never missing her kids then grandkids games and there was always a ballgame of some kind on her TV. She drove school bus for Whitehall Schools for many years. She would jokingly say it was to keep an eye on her kids but she did enjoy interacting with and watching all the kids grow up.
Jean and Bob enjoyed deer hunting and spending time with friends at the cabin they built together up north. They also loved the time spent riding motorcycles with good friends, Dick and Bev Statz. Bob and Jean owned Findlay's Cottages on White Lake. Over the years they met many summer visitors and taught any that wanted to learn, how to water ski. Many of those visitors became lifelong friends, returning year after year until the resort was sold in 1975.
