James F. Baker's Obituary
James Frederick Baker, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in Virginia. He was born in Muskegon on April 7, 1930 to Jacob and Henrietta (Barsema) Baker. James was a caring family man, survived by his son, Walter (Sun Cha) Baker of Newport News, VA; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne (of 48 years) and by three sons, William, James and John. James had worked at Teledyne Continental Motors for thirty-two years before retiring in 1987. He was a U.S Army combat veteran of the Korean War receiving a purple heart and bronze star with valor and is a member of Don Rea VFW Post 8846. James was a self-taught handy man, building his own home and he enjoyed making bird houses. Private family services will be held. Burial at Restlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association. James will be sorely missed.
