James Edwin Flood's Obituary
Mr. James Edwin Flood, age 75, of Muskegon, Michigan passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, May 29, 2925, after a brief and unexpected battle with cancer.
Jim was born in Muskegon, Michigan to Louis and Ilah Flood on September 12, 1949, and married the love of his life, Janet Flood (Stibitz-Holt) on August 22, 1997. He attended Reeths Puffer schools graduating in 1968,
He owned and operated several businesses throughout his life. He started his career at Medendorp Auto Supply as an auto parts guru. Then on to Muskegon Cabler TV starting as an installer, then technician and eventually becoming General Manager of TCI Cable. He went on to establish many other businesses, the last one being Star Logic Solutions.
Jim loved music. He was a DJ for most of his life. He also sang and played the guitar in the Joyride band. He had a larger-than-life personality. Always a wonderful entertainer, busy enjoying life and helping others enjoy theirs.
At the time of his passing, he was the executive director of the USS LST 393 Museum which he treasured and was incredibly proud of. He spent a lot of time there and it was one of his favorite things in life. He also enjoyed driving the school bus for Reeths Puffer schools. Using his amazing charm, he gave all the children joy as they gave so much love back to him.
Jim enjoyed playing guitar and was a music aficionado, mentor, joke teller, and so many other things to so many. More than anything in his life, Jim treasured his family. Jim is survived vby his wife, Janet, his children, Melissa Flood (Shane Hill), Stacey Dominguez, Sarah Thigpen, Kary Holt (Bobby Hawley) & Molly Beegle (Josh), all of whom he treasured as his own. Surviving him as well are his grandchildren, Elliott Flood Johnson, Charlotte Hill, Lilly Thigpen, Gavin Thigpen, Dominic Dominguez and Surai Dominguez; brothers, and sisters, Sandy (John) Kriger, Paula (Bob) Ackerson and Pat (Chris) Flood; sisters-in-law, Barb (Joe) Lowry and Thelma Stibitz. He was also loved by his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Scott Stibitz. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Jim's name to the USS LST 393.
A Celebration of Life Gathering and luncheon will be held at Whitlow's Banquet Room, located at 4610 Airline Road, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with a service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
