James Nielsen, age 80 of Muskegon, passed away at Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence on January 16, 2016. Jim worked at Alstrom Construction for 35 years and was a faithful member of Lakeside Community Church. He served in the Navy CB (Construction Battalion) from 1954 "? 1958. Jim's greatest loves included his family, in-laws and fishing.He is survived by his beloved wife, M. Ruth Nielsen; Children, James "Jamie"? III, Kevin (Donna Kopinski), Gina (Mark) Ward, granddaughter Juliette, sister, Lorraine (Larry) Eikenberry, sister in law, Juanita Nickerson and his nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Steven; parents, James and Marie Nielsen, and sister, Nancy Carlson and sister in law Gladys Smith. Memorial contributions may be given to the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence and/or Lakeside Community Church.Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 21, 2016, 5:30 p.m. atLakeside Community Church, 1655 W. Norton Avenue, Norton Shores, MI 49441 (231-747-2793) with Dr. Zawdie K. Abiade officiating. There will be a light meal following the service.Visitation: 4:30 "? 5:15 p.m. preceding the memorial service.Cremation by Shoreline Memorial Services (231-722-5050).
