James Leland Showers' Obituary
James Leland Showers, age 74 was born on August 7, 1951, in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Leland James and Reva Marie (Geetings) Showers and passed away on June 4, 2026. Along with his parents James was preceded in death by six siblings, Marian Pearl, Barbara French, Richard Showers, Lee Showers, Penny LaVassuer and Andrew Showers. Survivors include his two children, Jerry (Dawn) Showers, and Jamie Showers; four grandchildren, Kailynn (Mason) Bench, Michael (Crystal) Showers, Cassandra Showers, and Ryan Showers; three great-grandchildren, Brynlee, Bellamy and Frieren; five siblings, Violet Stempel, Dolly Kissel, April Showers Thompson, Rose Showers, and Randy (Janie) Showers.
James is a veteran of the United States Army, the DAV, the American Legion Algot Johnson Post #69, and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
A visitation for James will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from Noon until 2:00 p.m. at Shoreline Memorial Services located at 137 E. Laketon Ave. Muskegon followed by a graveside committal service with Military Honors at Sunrise Memorial Garden starting at 2:30 p.m.
