James E. Sullivan's Obituary
James E. Sullivan of Muskegon was born on July 17, 1943 in Muskegon to the late James J. and Myra (Cotton) Sullivan and passed away at home on October 22, 2017.
Jim is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Marianne (Pawlak) Sullivan; three children, Tracy (Mark) Gilland, James (Katherine) Sullivan and Shayne Sullivan; grandchildren, Patrick (Katy) Gilland, Nicholas Gilland, Jansen Sullivan and Macy Sullivan; siblings, Patricia (Ted) Wierenga, Peggy Ruiter, and Richard Sullivan.
He was retired from S.D. Warren. Jim was a talented craftsman who was known for his wood-working skills that he performed with great accuracy, precision, and pride. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren sharing advice, playing checkers, and simply talking with each of them about their individual interests. He cherished his wife of nearly 54 years and their devotion to each other was a strong bond that helped to guide them along their journey together in life that in recent months was challenging. Jim always loved horses, especially Morgans, enjoyed reading Woodworking magazines, grilling dinner for his family, and a good cup of coffee.
According to his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life Service at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1206 Whitehall Road, on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Bill Uetricht officiating. Visitation held one hour prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider sending donations to help cover the cost of the funeral services due to high medical bills and lack of life insurance. You may either donate in person at the funeral, or you can donate via a GoFundMe page using the following link
