James F. Tate's Obituary
James Franklin Tate, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. He was born in Grand Haven, MI on March 27, 1960, to Jimmie and Alta Tate. Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ronda; 5 children, Tony (Crystal) Brockway of Greensboro, NC, Rachel (Loren) Prief of Spring Lake, MI, Heather (Rick) Malone of Montague, MI, Sara (Joey) Smith of Montague, MI and Ashley (Herman Barrett) Tate of Muskegon, MI; 12 grandchildren, Mason, Kamen, Chance, Ricky, Grace, Xavier, Jasper, Kadie, Izzy, Jenna, Herman and Delilah; brother, Roger (Theresa) Tate of Mossyrock WA; 2 sisters, Kathy (Robert) Dennis of Grand Rapids, MI and Linda (Todd) Cartwright of Del Rio, TX; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother in 2006; granddaughter Lillie in 2010 and his father in 2016.
Jim was an avid hunter, fisherman, and all-around outdoorsman. He worked as a talented gem cutter and silver smith.
