Jared Michael Roach's Obituary
Jared Michael Roach (known by most as Serena Rhiannon McKenna or Merovech) of Muskegon, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 18, 2023. They were born to Joshua Benjamin Roach and Eileen Rae Johansen on Sunday morning, December 20, 1998, in Muskegon, Michigan.
Serena was always exceptionally bright and had acquired a treasure trove of knowledge in their life. They were also very musically gifted. Serena wrote and recorded a lot of music with many friends. Serena enjoyed reading all types of literature and knew how to speak and read many different languages. They enjoyed history, philosophy, nature, cooking, brewing alcohol, biking, gardening, fishing, and hanging out with friends and family. Serena was a funny, kind, empathetic, and beautiful soul that would fight for what's right, no matter what. Serena will always be my warrior, my little Wulfgar. They will be forever missed. The world lost one of the best humans on this planet.
Serena was preceded in death by the love of their life, Kenny; and a dear friend, CJ. Also preceded in death, a grandmother, Lori Jean (Roach) Schaalma; and grandfather, Knut Gunnar Johansen.
Serena is survived by their mother Eileen (Chad) Johansen, father Joshua Roach; grandmothers, Inger Johansen and Janette (Jimmy) Hill; grandfather, Kenneth (Joyce) Schaalma. Also surviving are aunts, Janne Millet, Sarah (Steve) Johansen-Ciezak and Andrea Johansen; uncles, Erik (Paige) Johansen, Brandon (Brenna) Johansen, Justin Schaalma, and Jacob Schaalma, and many other great aunts/uncles and cousins around the world.
A small memorial will be held by immediate family on a date to be determined.
