Jeffrey Adam Jasicki's Obituary
Mr. Jeffrey A Jasicki, age 73, passed away on Friday November 15, 2019 at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on July 24, 1946 to Raymond and Genevieve (Hronek) Jasicki. He graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central and attended Michigan Technological University where he received a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at Neway Division and at S D Warren where he retired in 2005. On April 15, 1977, he married Eileen Witkop, and they spent 36 years together before she passed away on December 17, 2013. Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, softball, casinos, and music. He played fast pitch softball and was one of the best pitchers in the Muskegon area. He played for several teams in the Muskegon area including G&J Market and Burger Chef. He was known as "Burger Chef Jeff." During his college days, he also played for Bosch Brewery in Houghton, Michigan and played in several tournaments in the UP and Northern Wisconsin. His greatest love, however, was music. He played guitar, and later on played electric bass. While in college, he played in a band along with his brother. After college, he played for many years with Ray J and the Four Js, a band consisting of his father, his brother, Jerry Bates, Doug Cross, Dick Strang Jr, and occasionally his Nephew Raymond. After his father died, he formed another band called the Classic Country Cats. Jeff was one of the most versatile guitar players in the area. He played everything from Rock to Polkas to Country to Church music. He played music at several area churches for many years and would often play at more than one service almost every weekend. He enjoyed more of the contemporary style of church music. Jeff also had a special friend, Bill Kennedy, his steel guitar player. They spent many hours together after Jeffs wife, Eileen, passed away. Bill passed away in October of this year. Survivors include, his "Papas" Daughter, Lorra(Jim) Schippers, his Brother "Benny" Raymond (Linda) Jasicki, five Grandchildren, Kaeleen (Ben) Gillette, Jeffersonville, IN, Aaron Smith, Wesley (Amber) Schippers, Travis (Krista) Schippers, Daniel (Trisha) Schippers; ten Great Grandchildren, and his Godson Raymond Jasicki II (Karen), Eau Claire, WI. and other family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday November 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 3252 E. Apple Ave. Muskegon, Michigan, Father Douglas Braun presiding. Visitation will be held one prior to the Funeral Mass also at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Jeffs family in care of Raymond Jasicki to help with expenses.
