Joanne M. Trombley's Obituary
Joanne Marie Trombley, age 81, passed away unexpectedly and went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Joanne was born on November 11, 1944, in Reese, Michigan, to Arlye and Gladys Findlay. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, James Findlay; and her sister, Maxine Weisheim (Ed).
She is lovingly remembered and survived by her devoted husband, Donald Trombley; her children, Wade Trombley, Wendy Ely (Scott), Jennifer Visser (Kirk), and Amy Rabideau (Jerry); and her brothers, Richard Findlay (Rosie) and Gary Findlay (John). She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Sarah Trombley, Wesley Borkowski, Evan DeMara, Nicklas Visser (Hope), McKenzie Ely, Maxwell Visser (Nallely), Karleigh DeMara, Kaitlynn DeMara, Chloe Ely, her great-grandchildren, and her cherished dog, Benny, all who brought her immense joy.
Joanne was faithful member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Reese and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spring Lake. She lived a life centered on faith, family, and kindness. She graduated from Delta College with a degree in Early Childhood Development.
Joanne had a lifelong love of reading and was rarely without a book in her hands, often finishing several each week. She worked for Hudson's before continuing her career with Macy's Corporation, retiring at the age of 55. Retirement marked the beginning of many adventures with Don. Together they enjoyed traveling throughout Europe, Peru, and Alaska, while also making time to camp and explore the beauty of Michigan whenever they could.
Above all else, Joanne was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She treasured every moment spent with her family and created a legacy of love, warmth, and unwavering support that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Reese, Michigan. Additional details will be shared with family and friends as they become available.
Joanne's gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and deep love for her family will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
